It was our last full day in Wellington today *sniff*

I had some more stuff to do in town, but Candi and Sophie came and joined me after and we all met up with “Unkie Joe” for a Subway lunch in Lambton Square, then left him and did a bit of touristy “walking up and down aimlessly”.

What a nice place Wellington is - it kind of reminds me a bit of Sydney, but nicer and even less busy. The waterfront is cool and of course the scorching weather helped!

We caught the train back to Petone at 3pm (which took about 12 minutes)and walked up the very long, extremely steep hill to Joe and Susanne’s house, whilst carrying heavy bags and pushing Sophie in her pushchair. by the time we got back, we were both absolutely knackered! Sophie, having slept most of the way, woke up and was of course very energetic.

When Joe and Susanne came back from work, they took us out for dinner at a nice restaurant - the Tug Boat, which is (as you might have guessed) an actual tug boat, moored up in Oriental Bay. I had the venison and Candi had steak - both were really nice. Sophie came with us and was really well behaved, especially as it was way past her bedtime. Our thinking is, don’t worry too much about keeping her routine at the moment - it’s going to be ruined enough when we fly back!

Tomorrow we fly back to Christchurch and spend a day or so with Graham, then we begin the long haul back to the UK. Not looking forward to that much, but we will hopefully get another post in before we leave.
